Alfie Chang and George Hall are set to leave Blues before the transfer window closes.
Manager Chris Davies has admitted that the pair of local lads and Academy products are unlikely to figure for him this season.
Chang has not been included in any of Davies’ squads this season, while Hall has only been an unused substitute in the Carabao Cup defeat by Port Vale in midweek.
Last season the pair went out on loan to Walsall and started in the Saddlers’ League Two Play-Off Final defeat by AFC Wimbledon at Wembley.
“With Alfie and George, if they were to get regular game time, they would have to go elsewhere,” Davies said.
“And they know that. I think that’s pretty obvious, and they’re looking at options, their options, and what’s out there and potentially in the next few days something will happen for them.
“Both are top professionals. I haven’t had one single cross word with either of them (about their situation).
“They’ve been absolutely exemplary, every single day, both of them.
“And they’re good players as well. They just need to find the right club. And actually the way they’ve been training, whoever those clubs are that decide to go for them are going to make a good decision because they both look strong, fit, they’ve got quality, they can play at a good level, no doubt. So I’m hopeful for them that the right thing emerges.”
Two years ago, Chang suffered a serious knee injury in training which kept him out of the entire 2023/24 season.
In January 2025, the 22-year-old midfielder made his comeback in the FA Cup and went on to join Walsall on loan for the remainder of the campaign.
Wide attacker Hall, 21, went to Walsall in the August at the start of last season and made 21 appearances all told (three goals) after battling back from a hamstring injury which halted his participation for a while.
