Blues are closing in on Colombian midfielder Jhon Solis.

Agreement is near for the transfer of the 21-year-old from Spanish side Girona.

Solis has been identified by Blues as someone to add strength and size to the central areas.

Combative and defensively-minded, Solis has a strong reputation for being able to cover the ground and break up play.

Whilst Blues put the expected finishing touches to the move, they have shifted Lyndon Dykes (pictured above) to Charlton Athletic.

The Scotland international striker has been transferred on a permanent deal. There has been no confirmation whether Blues have received a fee, and Charlton have stated that Dykes has ‘joined for the remainder of the 2025/26 season’.

Dykes has fallen out of favour with manager Chris Davies and was not part of his last two matchday squads.

Dykes has been seeking regular football in order to boost his chances for Scotland in this summer’s World Cup.

He made 21 appearances for Blues this season, scoring twice – dramatic added-time winners at Blackburn Rovers and at home to Swansea City.

He was a part of the League One title-winning side and famously scored a late header against Bradford City that sent Blues to Wembley for the EFL Vertu Trophy Final.

Dykes almost moved to Hibernian on the final day of the summer transfer window and it was always likely that he would be exiting St. Andrew’s sooner rather than later.

Blues have registered an interest in August Priske, the Danish striker who has been making waves in Sweden with Djurgårdens IF.

Priske, 21, was top-scorer in the Allsvenskan last season with 18 goals from 27 appearances.

The 6ft 4in Priske is strong, mobile and quick. However, he has plenty of clubs interested in him, including Besiktas and Lille, according to Danish media.
